SUMMARY:University Press and Jericho Bicentenary Walk
DESCRIPTION:A leisurely stroll through the 19th-century suburb of Jericho, preceded by a visit to the Oxford University Press Museum, with short talk by the OUP archivist. The walk will emphasise the suburb’s rich literary and artistic associations, ranging from ‘Alice’ and the Pre-Raphaelites to Thomas Hardy and Inspector Morse, to end inside the imposing church of St Barnabas. A Jericho 200 event.\nMark Davies is an Oxford local historian, guide, and author, and Chair of the Jericho Living Heritage Trust.\n
