Today is the launch of the Global Dance Film Project; a collaboration between OFA, Dancin’ Oxford, Oxford International Links, Mandala Theatre and Ashtar Theatre’s International Digital and Live Festival. Supported by the British Council Digital Collaboration Fund.

The project’s theme is Gaia, taking inspiration from Mother Earth, and aspirations of hope and renewal. We are inviting community and youth dance groups from across Oxford and its twin cities; Bonn, Grenoble, Leiden, Padua, Wroclaw, Perm, León, and Ramallah to join us in this digital celebration of dance.

All amateur dance groups are invited to make a film of their performance to; Think Aloud by Benjamin McAvoy (De Wolfe Ltd). Filming can take place in any location in your home city. For all the details of how to take part visit the Dancin’ Oxford website.

As part of this project OFA has commissioned a dance piece ‘Gaia – Gaian thinking is not a luxury’ that has been performed by Contact Dance Company around stunning locations in Malta. This will be released on July 7th.
