Family Day: Queens & Kings
Sunday 3 July | 11am-4pm
Festival Marquee, Rose Garden
& MCS Fields
Join us for a day in the glorious festival grounds where we will shall be entering the world of Queens and Kings. What better way to spend an afternoon than in the company of some of the trailblazing Queens who came before Elizabeth II for some lively debate between some of the Regnant Queens of Great Britain with Past-Times Living History? Linking to the historic Platinum Jubilee, this will be a day full of full and activity for the family: from having a go at archery to making gargoyles and dragons; from Tudor witch pots making to sword demonstrations, and entertainment with assembled royals spanning the Tudor, Elizabethan, Stuart and Victorian eras. Throughout the day you will have the opportunity to engage in conversation with the Queen of your choice – so please do not be shy!
Bringing the day to a close (3pm-4pm) will be our favourite Manouche Etcetera – a versatile trio who will be taking us around the world with fiery dances, klezmer music and retro swing, from the sultry sounds of Buenos Aires to the 20s in Paris!
Entrance is free
