Love’s Labour’s Lost by William Shakespeare
4, 5 and 6 July | 7pm
Four young men take a vow to devote themselves entirely to study for three years. Fasting is in, flirting is out: no woman is permitted to come within a mile of their ‘little academe’. Cue the arrival of four young women. Will the men keep their word? Or will they lose their oaths to find love – and themselves? Full of wit and wordplay, Love’s Labour’s Lost is a sparkling comedy about the irrepressibility of language, love and life. After all, ‘where is any author in the world, teaches such beauty as a woman’s eye?’
This summer MCS Drama is touring the South-West with a new adaptation of Scaramouche!, a swashbuckling romance set during the French Revolution, based on the novel by Rafael Sabatini.
The final performance will be at Waterperry Gardens in their stunning amphitheatre on Sunday 23 July.
