Misha Glenny is an award-winning journalist, broadcaster and author whose book McMafia was adapted into an acclaimed television drama. His recent BBC podcasts on How to Invent a Country are similarly adapted from his book. He made a name for himself as the BBC’s Central Europe Correspondent covering the 1989 revolutions and the wars in the former Yugoslavia. He has a Sony Gold Award for Outstanding Contribution to Broadcasting and is also a winner of BT’s Information Security Journalist of The Year.
Recently appointed Rector of the Institute of Human Sciences (IWM) in Vienna, he is regularly consulted by governments and law enforcement agencies in Europe and the Americas on the Balkans and Eastern Europe; on trans-national organized crime and on cyber security.
