Magnificent Oxford in the Library of New College, Oxford

New College Library’s collections of manuscripts and rare books are famous the world over, and its earliest treasures dating from the 11th century. The library’s manuscript books are one of the university’s great collections—more survive from the medieval library of New College than from that of any other Oxford college—and the College’s holdings of incunabula and other rare books are extraordinary.

‘Come and view beautiful and fascinating book and manuscript treasures of New College (founded 1379), of learned Oxford—a major centre for the production and dissemination of knowledge—and of the wider county. Come and view our treasures, within the magnificence of the Great Quad of New College, Oxford itself.
