Shakespeare Festival

To celebrate the anniversary of the First Folio in 2023, MCS has partnered with five local primary schools to launch a new Shakespeare Festival. KS2 students, with the help of MCS student directors, have rehearsed exciting new adaptations of ‘Julius Caesar’, ‘Macbeth’, ‘A Midsummer Night’s Dream’, ‘The Tempest’ and ‘The Merchant of Venice’ and each troupe will take to the stage on 2^nd July for their final performance. Award-winning poet, Kate Wakeling, will also be joining us as a judge and to lead a poetry workshop with the pupils. It has been a pleasure to work with budding thespians and encourage another generation to engage with these 400-year-old texts: it promises to be a joyous afternoon.
