Join our team!

is recruiting Festival hosts for this year’s edition of the festival.   We are looking for persons who will contribute to the vibrant atmosphere that the festival creates, whilst also enabling our loyal followers to enjoy their visits to the full.  No two days are the same; but the role will focus mainly on front-of-house and stewarding duties, as well as ensuring that our artists are taken care of, and that the events run smoothly.  The festival relies on everyone working together as a team. Shift patterns are arranged to allow you to enjoy as much of the Festival as possible, whilst also reflecting the needs of our programme.

If you are…

  • Friendly, positive, and calm under pressure
  • Comfortable speaking with the public
  • Excited to meet new and like-minded people in the local area
  • Reliable, versatile and energetic
  • Excited about the arts and engaging new audiences
  • Over 16 years old at the time of the Festival

…then we would love to hear from you!

The OFA Hub is the first point of call for all patrons, and our welcoming space, in the idyllic setting of the Magdalen College School rose garden. It also serves as our box office for on-the-door ticket sales.  The dates for the main period of Oxford Festival of the Arts 2024 are June 27 – July 14. Festival hosts will be contracted for the period June 24 – July 15.

The Festival Hub is open from 5pm to 10pm (11pm lights out) between June 29 and July 13; with the following exceptions: Saturday, June 29 (2pm – 6pm); and Saturday, July 6 (11am – 4.30pm).  It will be closed on June 30, July 1, and July 7, but there will be the possibility of stewardship for external events.  There will be a meeting (and training) prior to the festival dates.  The remuneration is set at the Oxford Living Wage of £12.49ph + £1.51ph annual leave equivalence (12.07% of the hourly rate) = £14ph.

Applicants must prove their right to work in the UK.  Please send your CV and MCS application form to our HR department. Employment is subject to the successful DBS and other relevant checks.

Deadline for the applications is Midday Friday, 31st of May.

I hope that you would like to join us.  Being part of a festival is a marvellously addictive thing!
